According to data from the National Alliance on Mental Illness, depression and anxiety are the two most commonly diagnosed mental diseases, with 18.5 percent of people with mental health issues and 36 percent of the population reporting anxiety, and 6.7 percent of the population having depression.
We are a relatively new player in this space, but we have been doing a lot of research and development in this space over the past few years, so we decided to hire a mental health assistant for only $32,000. You know, the people who work for us are actually a pretty diverse bunch of people. We have a range in age from mid-thirties to mid-forties, with a few older people on the team. Our team is made up of a diverse number of people, with a number of different backgrounds and backgrounds in a variety of different areas of work. What they all have in common is that they are all very committed to helping people with mental health issues.
You see, most people, including myself, have had someone close to us in our lives make a difference – or two or three or five – and we appreciate that. But then there are the people that are very isolated and isolated themselves. These are the people that take that very small action and are committed to helping those who can’t take care of themselves.
The people that I worked with, all of them, were in this camp. They were all very dedicated to helping people, but I don’t think they ever thought that they were doing it for any other reason than they were helping someone.
I think it’s a combination of reasons. If we want to be sure to help people, we’ll be sure to take care of ourselves. If we want to take care of ourselves, we’ll be sure to help others. But then, people who are not very committed to themselves and their well being are going to be very isolated themselves. These are the people that are going to go and do whatever is necessary to help themselves, but they won’t be as committed to others.
